
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She also serves as captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division in women's professional soccer. From 2018 to 2020, she served as co-captain for America's women's national soccer squad together with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9The 9 Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there , and was a key player in the team's winning the league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time was the youngest athlete of the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team was runner-up. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final match against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. She was able to finish 2012 with 28 goals and 21 assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and provide 20 assists in the same calendar year . making her the sixth and youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan played a key role in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup.
