Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actor and performer who started her career through smart raps that addressed the issues of sexuality and race with a a boldly comic perspective. Her career then grew into Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. In addition to classical and jazz, the young Nora started studying hip-hop when she was in her teens. Following a focus on education, she earned a degree in journalism in university and also a women's study degree. She didn't start focusing on music until the time she completed her degree. After gaining viral fame via the Internet and her own song My Vag was a reaction to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick. It eventually appeared on the album she released, Yellow Ranger. The album also contained viral hits like body-positive Queef and winking tour of her home NYC Bitche$. The final track was connected directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, released in the year 2015. With musician and author as her credentials, she set her sights on acting in a third project. In addition to early series that included Girl Code and Tawk - she appeared in the movies Neighbors 2 Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018 she landed her first major role in a number of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
